About Vice President for Women's Campuses

Hana Alnuaim is a Professor of Computer Science and the first female University Vice President.

She was the Dean of Women’s Campuses for 5 terms since 2009. During that time, she was also the first Dean of the Faculty of Home economics and acting dean for six years and she was acting Dean of the new Jeddah University, launching the university’s first women’s campuses. Her previously held positions include the head of the Computer Science Department, and as the first Vice Dean of e-Learning, launched the first higher education e-learning program in the kingdom for women.

She received her Bachelors in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin and Masters and Doctor of Science in Computer Science from George Washington University, USA. She has published and refereed papers in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) , user-centered design, usability, multimedia, e-learning, e- government, m-government, machine learning, object oriented programming and knowledge cities.

In addition to teaching and being Master’s and PhD thesis advisor, she has extensive faculty training background, and has been involved in many administrative, academic, Web-based projects and program accreditation endeavors university-wide.

Prof. Alnuaim was invited as speaker in many local and International summits, Expos and conferences in her academic and administrative capacity to represent the university and Saudi women leadership including the Times Higher Education, QS, Knowledge Cities summits and STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) for women.
